The Federal Republic of Myanmar awarded Chonghua Grand Monk
On March 20, 2019, At the invitation of the Ministry of Religion of the Federal Republic of Myanmar, and approved by the State Bureau of Religious Affairs, Monk Chonghua (Member of the CPPCC National Committee, Vice Chairman of the Yunnan Buddhist Association, Chairman of the Dali Prefecture Buddhist Association, Dali Chongsheng Temple Abbot ) went to Naypyi, Myanmar to attend the ceremony of issuing the Medal of Religion of MAHADADANMAZUODIGADASHA which signed by the President of the Federal Republic of Myanmar.
On March 19, the grand monk Chonghua arrived in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar. Myanmar's ministry of religion arranged personnel to meet him at the airport. Later, the deputy director of the religious affairs department, the ministry of religion of Myanmar, Wu Thungung, visited the hotel where the monk stayed and the two sides held talks.
On March 20th, the ceremony of issuing the Medal of Religion of MAHADADANMAZUODIGADASHA was held in the MAHA SASANA BEIKMAN auditorium of the Titan Pagoda (Neptune Shrine). Chonghua Monk attended the ceremony and was awarded the 2018 MAHADADANMAZUODIGADASHA Religious Medal by the President of the Federal Republic of Myanmar, Wen Min, the State Minister of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi and government officials in recognition of the outstanding contribution Chonghua Monk made in Buddhist cultural exchanges between Myanmar and China. The Religious Medal of Myanmar is one of the highest awards in the country signed by the President of the Federal Republic of Myanmar. It is the highest recognition of leaders and buddhists who have outstanding cultivation, high moral standing, significant contribution to the Buddhist doctrine in Myanmar, and significant influence on buddhist studies and teachings.
After the award ceremony, a grand giving ceremony was held. President Wen Min, Minister of State Aung San Suu Kyi, and Minister of Religion Angkor and others personally gave gifts to the monk Chonghua and other monks who are receiving the honors together.
